Name That Classical Tune

Back-To-Bach™  is formatted for playing games.  The basic activity is to play the "music-only" soundtrack from a selected number of themes.  The designated person or group will see how quickly they can give the name of the composer and composition.

There can be many variations for "Name That Tune" depending on the age group.  It may be played with individual or group competition.  Teachers, parents, or children can set the rules as they wish.  The idea is to learn classical music themes and to have fun in the process.

Children love to sing with a mike - real or pretend.  Let the winner sing the theme alone - or choose someone to sing along with them.  They may choose to use the music only track or with the music with words track.

Hum That Tune

Some children enjoy working in pairs.  One child hums a theme for the other to guess the name of the composer and/or composition.  However you choose to format the game, do not make it stressful for the children.  Positive experiences are best for learning.

Name That Country

For older children, you can add another dimension - to tell the composition, composer and nationality of the composer.

Pantomime

A person or group can attempt to convey the name of the composition and/or composer to others by actions only.
